Mike Henderson, Lead Pastor

Pastor Mike is the primary speaker at New Hope Church, and communicates in a down-to-earth style that is easy to listen to and understand.  His goal is to teach the Bible so that the ordinary person can use its truths in everyday life.  He is the founding pastor of New Hope and is a native Virginian.

Mike has been married to his wife, Carol, for 25 years.  They have 5 children, and live in the Earlysville area.  He likes to play golf and basketball, and is an avid football & college basketball fan.  To learn just a little more about Mike, subscribe to his blog.

John Powell, Worship Leader

John Powell is the Worship Leader at New Hope.  He is a talented vocalist and plays an awesome acoustic guitar.  John grew up in a musical family and was involved in leading worship with other family members for most of his life.  He keeps up with the most current songs in the Christian music world and brings them to the New Hope services.

In his spare time, John likes to watch movies and read great books.  He also loves meeting new people and making people laugh.
